NICE also have a decision aid to help patients decide if taking a statin is right for you. It is intended to help you make up your mind whether or not to take a statin to reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.
You can use your own QRISK2 score (provided by your GP) to looks at graphics which demonstrate your risk of cardiovascular disease, and the difference that taking a statin may make to you.
